The 16 Year Boy Who Shot His Parents Over Halo 3 Game Might or Must Get Prison For Life ?

If you’ve been following this freak news when last year a 16 year old boy Daniel Petric shot his parents in cold blood because they took away his Halo 3 (halo 3 is an Xbox 360 game) which resulted in his mother’s death but the father survived, am sure you must be disgust because it’s just insane and one of those things you just don’t know what to think.

Daniel Petric Halo 3 killer boy who shot his parents

Petric now 17 had his hearing last month, and today the judge has convicted him of his crimes although no sentence was passed on yet, he is facing the maximum possible penalty of life sentence in prison without parole.

Described as a cold, calculating killer who plotted to murder his parents by the prosecutors, the defence in other hand attributed his crimes to irresponsibility due to his video game addiction (it was also revealed that when Petric left the crime scene, there was only one thing which he took with him: his copy of the Halo 3 game), thankfully the Judge overruled this stupid argument, and pointed to evidence saying that he actually plotted the act.

“Mark Petric, who is a minister at New Life Assembly of God in Wellington, testified that his son came into the room and asked: “Would you guys close your eyes? I have a surprise for you.”
The father testified that he expected a pleasant surprise. Then his head went numb from a gunshot and he survived. His wife, Susan, 43, died of gunshot wound to the head.”

I really was going to blame the parent for bad parenting but even bad parenting doesn’t deserve a gun shot.

The father was a priest so I know there might be some up and down there but the kid deserve prison for life, I don’t really believe in death sentence because killing him won’t do any good , I rather let him live and feel the sorrow , sadness, loneliness , shame of his act.

Well just a point of view, I think he deserves just the 23 years, if not less. It’s quite upsetting to hear many of the articles saying people still claim that a video game lead to a shooting, if that were probable I’d expect high casualties near arcades. Plus the parenting background doesn’t cut it, backwards families don’t always raise backwards children. Also he was quite remorseful for his crime, the way he did suggested he understood his fault but he wouldn’t obviously leave undisciplined with pity. By the time his sentence is up hopefully he would have learned an important lesson. And overall the blame shouldn’t be on the parenting, the games, or anything else but the individual (unless in a case where as the individual has “issues”). It seems he just made one helk of a hiccup.

His life should be ended, as sociopaths like this are a complete waste of space and are no longer worth feeding or housing any more – let alone allowing eventual reintegration into the community (that means possibly somewhere your children, friends, parents, brothers and sisters might be).

He showed no mercy, and cared for nothing but himself and his petty wants.
